I. THE
PURPOSE
The purpose of this policy is to encourage and facilitate the development of college credit granting high school courses and maintaining a Driver’s Education Program.
A. It is the policy of the school district to pursue academically
challenging courses for its students.
B. It is the policy of the school district to encourage students to
remain at the high school instead of opting for PSEO courses.
III. STAFF ASSISTANCE
A. The district will reimburse staff for one-half (½) of the cost of
pre-approved college graduate courses needed to teach ‘college in the high school’
classes. Payment will be made when
successful completion (B or better) is shown.
The total cost to the district is not to exceed $4,000.
B. The first year the course is taught, the teacher shall receive a
payment of $2,000 for each year long college in the high school course. The payment will be made after the mid-term
of the second quarter of the course.
This will include the payment for course development costs.
C. Each year after the teacher will receive an annual payment of
$1,000 for each year long course they teach for college credit.
D. The district will reimburse staff for
one-half (½) of the cost of pre-approved college graduate courses needed to
teach “driver’s education” classes and “behind the wheel programming.” Payment will be made when successful
completion (B or better) is shown. The
total cost to the district is not to exceed $4,000.
IV. COURSE APPROVAL
All courses offered for college
credit must be pre-approved by the District.
